The brave female police officer, who managed to shoot and kill the Colorado gunman after he went on a shooting spree at 6 different locations in Denver, has been identified.
28-year-old Ashley Ferris who is a brave police officer from Lakewood helped neutralize the threat at large, despite receiving gunshots to her abdomen region.
She managed to face the Colorado gunman and shoot him dead, as revealed by local media reports.
The officer says that she first ordered the suspected killer to drop his weapons down to the ground but at that point, the 47-year-old gunman named Lyndon McLeod shot her in the stomach.
But the officer managed to display true heroic nature and that’s when she bravely fired back at the killer, neutralizing the threat.
Now, Ferris is being lauded as a true hero whose efforts stopped the mega tragedy from being any worse than it already was.
The Colorado gunman went on a ballistic shooting spree as he arrived at six different locations in Denver and began to open fire. This resulted in the death of five victims while several others were injured including one cop who was rushed to a nearby hospital for severe injuries.
Ferris managed to grab a hold of the cold-blooded murderer, right after he rampaged through different tattoo parlors on Monday night.
A police spokesperson recently announced to the Press how the bravery and heroic actions displayed by the female cop can’t be overemphasized enough as more casualties were feared if the murderer was not caught on time.
“In the face of getting shot, in the face of great danger, she was able to not only save others from this terrifying tragedy but also managed to neutralize the overall threat,” added the police spokesperson.
