Officials claim that new DNA evidence and blood tests could potentially solve the murder mystery of a young schoolgirl who died after being bludgeoned with a tent peng.
The case that dates back to the year 1997 involved a foster dad by the name of Sion Jenkins who was found guilty of the murder of a 13-year-old schoolgirl named Billie-Jo Jenkins. However, it was later revealed how he was deemed guilty of the crime.
Meanwhile, forensic experts claim that they will need to re-examine blood splatters that were recently found on the accused culprit’s clothes to confirm their findings.
The news comes after cops opted for a forensic review of the evidence present for the case.
Sources have revealed how the victim was reportedly found inside a giant pool of blood that was located in the backside of a garden that was inside her foster dad’s home in Sussex.
And that’s when it was revealed how she was battered to death by him using an 18-inch long iron tent peg too.
For that reason, the police immediately arrested the victim’s foster father who spent up to six years in prison after being found guilty of the crime at the start. And that’s right before he was acquitted in the year 2006, right after he went through two retrials.
Later on, the accused had his compensation claim rejected and that’s due to the fact that his innocence in the case couldn’t be proved.
Now, Forensic examiners are taking another look into the case by revisiting all sorts of evidence collected from the crime scene, as revealed by the Sun recently.
The original evidence from the case was based upon the 148 blood spots that were obtained but failed to be visible to the naked eye. They were taken from Jenken’s attire.
