Boulder police were seen rescuing two people that were recently taken hostage by a gunman armed with AK-47s.
The house in Colorado was the center of a mega hostage situation during the later hours of Monday night.
The incident reportedly involved one active shooter at the intersection of Iris Avenue and Broadway. For now, the suspect is in custody after two individuals were rescued during such an intense standoff.
The suspect managed to barricade himself inside as the cops came out. The house was booby-trapped and now, the suspect is stated to be in the custody of the officers.
One of the officers was seen firing a shot during the rescue operation but thankfully, no one got hurt.
The stand-off continued until the later hours of the night, but the cops did manage to come out successful after that. On the other hand, the Boulder police did describe this scene to be awfully intense and very active. Therefore, they did ask residents to avoid this particular route to avoid being caught in the middle as investigations continue.
The incident began when the officers received information from the cops located nearby about a possible hostage situation.
One local resident mentioned how the house was previously unoccupied before this particular incident. He was not only armed with weapons but officers did manage to evacuate several other people living nearby as they tried to bring the hostages back to safety.
There was one point in time when the authorities mentioned that as many as four people were killed. But thankfully, the police did refute those claims a few moments later. “We have no confirmed reports about any fatalities that may have taken place at this scene”- the statement added.
