Christian Oliver’s ex-wife Jessica Klepser has spoken out after the sudden death of her ex-husband and their two young daughters.
The German actor, who appeared in the likes of Indiana Jones 5 and Speed Racer, died on a family vacation alongside his two daughters Matida and Annik after their single-engine plane suffered an engine issue and plunged into the sea off the Caribbean island of Bequia on Thursday.
Now, Oliver’s ex-wife, whom the actor was married to until December 2021, broke her silence in a statement shared by the California branch of Wundabar Pilates where Jessica works as a regional manager.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane accident on January 4, 2024, which took the lives of our beloved family members.
Our daughters, Madita (12), and Annik (10), along with their father Christian, were returning from a holiday in the Caribbean when the single-engine plane they were traveling in experienced engine trouble and fell into the ocean.Unfortunately, all four passengers on the small aircraft did not survive,” the statement by Jessica and the family read.
“Madita, a vibrant 7th-grade student at Louis Armstrong Middle School, was known for her lively spirit and excelled in academics, dance, singing, and performances.
“Annik, a 4th-grade student at Wonderland Ave Elementary School, was recognized for her gentle yet strong demeanor. She was always the first to offer a kind word or a comforting hug. Her passions included basketball, swimming, and various forms of art.”
The tear-jerking message went on to remember the two girls’ “infectious laughter” and their “adventurous spirit” while paying tribute to their father.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family also asked for monetary donations on GoFundMe to help Jessica bring her ex-husband and their two daughters home and pay for their funeral expenses.
