Five children were reportedly rushed to the hospital for undisclosed injuries after getting struck by a car.
While the victims’ condition currently remains unclear, the police have confirmed that five youths from Glasgow, Scotland, were hit on Provanmill Road in Blackhill by a car driven by a 34-year-old man.
After the emergency services arrived at the scene of the accident that took place at 5.40 pm, the driver was arrested and the children were taken to the hospital.
The driver has since been brought in for questioning over the incident and its circumstances. It is currently unclear if he will face charges and what the cause of the accident was.
“Around 5.40 pm on Monday, August 22, police were called to a report of five youths struck by a car on Provanmill Road, Glasgow,” the police confirmed.
“Officers attended and the five youths were taken to the Royal Hospital for Children.
“A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and inquiries are continuing.”
As of this writing, the names of the victims and their ages remain undisclosed. The extent of their injuries also remains a mystery.
In footage from the scene of the crash, emergency services could be seen blocking the road and redirecting the traffic while passersby watched on.
It is believed that the road has since been cleared and reopened.
