The Uvalde police chief is coming out with some shocking statements after the horrifying elementary school shooting incident that rocked the state of Texas recently.
According to reports from local media outlets, the police chief named Pete Arredondo has revealed that he was aware only shortly before he ordered the storming of officers into the building that people were still present inside and waiting for help and rescue teams to arrive.
The Police Chief has also mentioned in detail how he ditched his radio while on his way to the school as he felt that would slow him down terribly.
And just in case that was not enough, he is believed to have mentioned during his first public interview on a television channel yesterday that he had no clue that he was actually the one in charge of the whole operation.
Pete Arredondo mentioned in a bold tone how he reportedly waited for a good 40 minutes for his set of keys to open up the door for the classroom where the shooter named Salvador Ramos had been present. However, to his dismay, none of those keys actually worked. And that left him roaming around freely for a good 77 minutes, he continued.
During that time, innocent children were believed to have been making so many calls for help and rescue. But for now, there are still some unclear reports as to whether or not anyone had informed the police chief about these helpless victims because he had ordered the officers to wait outside for their shields and the key to open up the door.
Now, family members are lashing out at the respective authorities for their lack of control over the incident’s poor planning and execution, claiming their relatives had no choice but to bleed to death as the police stood outside.
