Terrifying reports coming in from Chicago have gone on to speak about a heartbreaking Halloween attack that left 14 people seriously injured.
According to reports by local media outlets, children as young as 3, 11, and 13 were rushed by paramedics to a nearby medical facility after the bloody attack. Witnesses claim their bodies were covered in bullets and it was the most distressing and tragic scene they had ever seen.
Meanwhile, 11 other victims aged from their 30s to their 50s were also reportedly struck by bullets. And some of their conditions were life-threatening while others were not as serious.
The group attacked was said to be attending a vigil on the corner at about 9:30 pm on the west side.
The sickening attack was called out for marking the night of bloodshed across America as so many families were seen celebrating the occasion of Halloween which really turned out to be a scary affair.
Sources revealed how this is the latest horror to attack Chicago in a really long time and it was just heartbreaking to see such scenes going viral on social media.
A balloon rehearsal had also been scheduled for later during the evening hours and it’s still not clear to officials who this particular vigil was scheduled for.
The event came into display after two shooters raced by and began firing for no reason at the group over the course of three seconds. But that’s literally all it took to cause this much destruction, explained the cops.
Meanwhile, sources from Chicago’s Police Department say there may have been others present at the event that gathered for different reasons.
“This happens to be a very common corner where people are known to gather for different reasons. Right now, it’s just too soon to determine if the matter is gang-related or a retaliation of some sort. We are continuing with our investigations”- they went on to mention.
