Terrifying and shocking news reports are coming in regarding the Uvalde cop who was caught checking his phone in the leaked video footage from the tragic incident.

According to local media reports, the officer was identified as none other than the husband of slain school teacher Eva Mireles who lost her life while trying to protect her young students during the massacre.

The officer’s name is now being revealed as Officer Ruben Ruiz who continued to stare at his phone screens for a while in the footage leaked. And as many speculations grew as to what was so important on the phone that led the officer to behave in this manner, it’s now being confirmed that he was only trying to save his dying wife.

Mireles was a brave teacher who was gunned down by a teenage shooter who arrived at the premises of the elementary school with his rifle.

The TPS director revealed how the officer had received a phone call from his wife after she had gotten shot. She continued to explain to him that she was going to die and she needed him to know how she loved him.

It is believed the officer arrived at the scene of the crime and tried his best to get inside and save his wife and so many others stuck amid the shooter’s presence.

“He did everything in his power to storm inside and save lives. His wife was in there. He needed to be there but he was kicked out”- the TTP director confirmed in a heartbreaking tone.

Meanwhile, this whole time, many accused the cop of other things as they just couldn’t make out what could be more important that a situation where innocent children were dying at an elementary school.

Given the tough situation that he was in, the officer was left with no choice but to stay outside and communicate with his dying wife but it was in vain because she had passed away at the site of the tragedy, thanks to one crazed gunman named Salvador Ramos.
