BREAKING: Country Singer And Songwriter Dies In Hospital After Suffering Medical Emergency


Country singer and songwriter Charlie Robison has passed away suddenly after a medical emergency.

The 59-year-old ‘I Want You Bad’ hitmaker reportedly suffered a heart attack on Sunday. Shortly after his hospitalization, the singer was pronounced dead at a San Antonio hospital.

The tragic development comes five years after Charlie quit his singing career as a result of a surgery that cost him his voice.

Robison is survived by his wife, four children, and other loved ones including his sister.

“Today my heart is broken in the deepest most irreparable way. My big brother Charlie passed away in the arms of his loved ones. Please play some Charlie Robison on Repeat. He would want it that way,” sister Robyn Ludwick shared in a statement.

Wife Kristen Robison added: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that my husband, Charlie Robison has passed away today, surrounded by his family and friends. My heart is broken. Please pray for me, our children and our family.”

Robison kicked off his career in the music industry in the late 1980s by playing for local bands in Austin before launching the Millionaire Playboys.

In 1996, Charlie release his solo debut Bandera, and two years later, he was approached by Sony to sign the Lucky Dog imprint.

Robison was arguably best known for his hit track I Want You Bad which appeared in the Top 40 country songs charts after its release in the 2001 album Step Right Up.

Following his break-up from his first wife, Emily Strayer, Charlie released the 2009 album Beautiful Day. In 2013, his final album – High Life – came out.

The singer’s music career came to an abrupt end in 2018 after a surgical procedure on his throat left him unable to sing for life.

“With a very heavy heart I am officially retiring from the stage and studio. Gonna keep it short but just wanted y’all to hear it from me. I was looking forward to another 25 but as they say ‘s*** happens,’” he said at the time.
