Johnny Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez subjected Amber Heard to brutal cross-examination on Thursday.
“Your lies have been exposed to the world multiple times?” asked Vasquez, whose interrogation of the Aquaman star turned her into an internet sensation.
Heard replied: “I haven’t lied about anything.”
When Depp’s lawyer asked: “When you told this jury you punched Mr. Depp because you thought of Mr. Depp pushing Kate Moss down the stairs, you didn’t expect Miss Moss to testify that never happened?”
Heard said that she knew many people will come forward to support the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
“Everybody who was around in the 90s and early aughts knew that rumor,” she continued. “I had heard that rumor from multiple people.
“Of course that’s what flashed through my head when my violent husband not only swung for me but all of a sudden swung for my sister. Of course I thought of that.”
Heard went on: “I did not expect her to show up or expect her to show up, it did not matter, it did not change what I thought on the stairs when I thought he was going to kill my sister.”
When pressed about why there are many people testifying for Depp, Heard said: “I know how many people will come out and say whatever for him. That’s his power. That’s why I wrote that op-ed. He is a very powerful man and people love currying favor with powerful men.”
Vasquez then asked whether Heard or her lawyers tipped off TMZ about her court appearance in May 2016 to obtain a restraining order against her ex-husband but the actress said that she had ‘nothing to do’ with the press.
“You alerted TMZ you’d be filing?” Vasquez asked, to which Heard replied: “No I did not.”
Depp’s lawyer also asked Heard if her friend Rocky Pennington did not see the ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ actor grab the wrist of a woman who was embracing Heard.
The actress said she was “not sure what part of the night she saw.”
When Heard was asked about her remarks in an audio recording that Depp should go to the ‘judge and jury’ and claim that he was a victim, she replied: “I find it hard to believe knowing that he himself beat me up for five years.”
