Shocking new revelations are being made about Anne Heche’s terrifying car crash that killed the celeb after she was found overdosing on cocaine and driving above the speed limit.
According to local media outlets, it took a good 45 minutes or so for firefighters in Los Angeles to break the celeb free from the blazing home where she had crashed her vehicle.
The news comes to us from records displayed by the LAFD that proved how firefighters arrived at about 11 am at the scene of the crash on August 5, which was shortly after the crash had ensued. But it was a difficult challenge for them to retrieve her from the burning home, which really hampered rescue attempts.
In the same way, the records have also gone on to show how so many firefighters were becoming confused in this utter chaos and just couldn’t locate her body as there was debris and fumes everywhere.
Then at 11:25 am, one firefighter was able to confirm the actress’s location as being inside the car. And that again took another 20 minutes for them to retrieve her from the vehicle that was again on fire.
Tragically, the actress lost her life due to the severe burns that covered her body. The injuries were intense after the crash and she just wasn’t able to pull through. Meanwhile, her toxicology report confirmed the presence of cocaine in her system during that time.
The records also detailed how it was absolute chaos in the area. So many people couldn’t gain access to the devastated Mini Cooper. And that was for nearly 20 minutes.
Those present at the scene said they couldn’t spot her body because it had rolled to the floorboard. Hence, they incorrectly thought she was rescued. At that time, they were rescuing the homeowner trapped inside.
The celeb was badly burnt and fell into a coma. After that, she was transported to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.
Her cause of death was determined to be severe anoxic brain injury and it was all due to a lack of oxygen.
