The family of the slain Burger King employee, who was recently killed during her night shift, have been given the opportunity to avail free of cost JetBlue flights back to their home country to conduct her funeral.
The company reportedly reached out to the grieving loved ones during this difficult time, expressing their condolences during this time and also putting forward a helping hand.
JetBlue airlines confirmed how it was willing to give the entire family of Krystal Baryon Nieves the opportunity to conduct her funeral in her home country of Puerto Rico at the nearest date, and for free.
Recently, Mayor Eric Adams shed light on how this unfortunate incident was more than just an evil act, adding how it recalled the need of the city to be conscience about what had just taken place.
The family released a public statement recently, where they spoke about how grateful they were in terms of all the outpouring of love as well as support from various corners of the city.
“We are just so thankful to everyone for reaching out to us during this time. We would especially like to thank JetBlue for giving us a number of free flights for our family so we can hold our beloved’s funeral in our native country of Puerto Rico.
The mayor also delivered a similar statement, mentioning how the city was more than willing to provide all of the resources necessary that would assist the family in carrying out the victim’s funeral.
“We are committed to providing the family with resources that they may need as the entire city grieves over the loss of such a prominent and hardworking young woman,” he added.
According to cops, the young woman was reportedly killed during her late-night shift, where a burglar shot her in the stomach, leading to her tragic death.
