The 12-year-old boy with dwarfism hit the headlines around the world back in 2020 when his mother shared a heartbreaking clip in which her son broke into tears and threatened to take his own life after getting bullied at his school because of his condition.

The role was reportedly offered to Quaden by Oscar-winning filmmaker George Miller, whereas the 12-year-old will take to the set alongside Chris Hemsworth and Anya Taylor-Joy.

“Can’t wait to watch on the big screen next year,” Quaden said of the movie that is expected to air in 2024.

While his performance in Furiosa will likely represent his biggest acting gig so far, this isn’t the first time Quaden will appear on the big screens.

Previously, he made a brief appearance in George Miller’s Three Thousand Years of Longing.

“I love acting, I want to do heaps. I can’t believe I’m in Mad Max. I never knew what it was, my brother was the one who showed me what it was and it blew my eyes,” Quaden said in an interview with NITV News during the movie’s premiere back in August.

“I was like ‘wow that’s crazy,’ and I love working with George Miller. It’s a really great job for me because of what I’ve been through.”

Meanwhile, Miller described Quaden as a “very film savvy” and talented young actor.

“Like everyone else, I saw the footage that his mother put up. I was incredibly moved by it. And I thought, ‘If one good thing can happen out of bullying’… and we offered him a little part in the movie. He’s wonderful to work with,” the filmmaker explained.

“It was good for us and it was good for him. And he did such a good job that he’s got a small role in Furiosa.”
