A Buffalo father-to-be succumbed to the blizzard after leaving the safety of his home to buy supplies for his heavily pregnant wife.
At least 37 people died in Buffalo, New York, after a “blizzard of the century” took over the country, causing the temperatures to plunge well below the freezing point while blanketing the land in a thick layer of ice and snow.
Among the victims of the storm was 26-year-old Abdul Sharifu who was determined to get supplies for his 9-month-pregnant wife when the blizzard hit the city.
Unfortunately, the young man never returned home from grocery shopping and he was found dead in the snow after his wife’s pleas for help on social media.
As the grieving family revealed, Sharifu arrived in Buffalo in 2017 to take on a new chapter of his life and start a family with his wife.
The authorities believe that the 26-year-old died on his way back home from the store after abandoning his car on Main Street and attempting to return to his place on foot.
The dad-to-be’s cousin, Ally, has since launched a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise funds for Abdul’s funeral expenses.
