A four-year-old child has tragically died after being struck by a car, on his way back from his own brother’s funeral.
The victim was recently identified by local media outlets as Domantea McDonald who happened to be present right outside his uncle’s home. The exact location of the tragedy was identified to be Jamaica, Queens in New York City.
At that time, it is believed that the child broke away from his mother and decided to run into the middle of the road. And as you can expect, the consequences were devastating.
At that same moment, it so happened that one Toyota RAV4 happened to be heading down the street during that time. And it knocked the child down.
Speaking to the New York Post recently, the child’s father mentioned how heartbroken the whole family has become. Losing one child was beyond imaginable and the fact that they just lost another one, has really been so hard.
“There is nothing left inside of me. There is nothing, it’s all empty!”- he mentioned.
“I just got back home from burying my older son. And now this. My child was not supposed to leave the world like this!”- the father continued to cry.
Just two weeks back, the family was mourning the loss of their son when news broke about how he was slain in a suspected gang shooting that took place two weeks back. Therefore, they were just returning from Domantea’s older brother Tysheem’s funeral.
It is believed that the victim was still yelling for his mother after being struck by the car. He was conscious at the time, but his dad prevented him from getting up, keeping him calm as paramedics were on their way.
But by the time they came, he took a few final breaths and fell on the pavement, which was his final resting spot. His cause of death was unveiled to be severe head trauma.
