Terrifying reports are coming in from a Lufthansa flight that was left with no choice but to make an emergency landing recently.
The flight was scheduled to arrive in the German city of Frankfurt after departing from Austin but things did not go as planned.
Due to poor weather conditions, the plane was struck by lightning and that is what resulted in broken glass shards flying and people screaming on board.
The end result was that seven people were hospitalized due to the devastating scenario that ensued.
It did not take long at all to see the flight getting diverted to Virginia as this was a crucial step that needed to be done, keeping in mind the current situation.
Loved ones of those on board sent pictures to those on the ground of the madness taking place. There was food scattered aboard the flight everywhere. The aisles were a complete mess.
The flight reportedly took off with plenty of turbulence but thankfully landed safely amid reports of drama and chaos and plenty of screaming.
Plenty of standby was on offer at the Washington Dulles International Airport during the evening hours. Ambulance and rescue services were in close proximity, rushing to take victims to the hospital and offering comfort to those who appeared rattled after the terrifying flying experience.
A statement was sent out by Lufthansa’s spokesperson who says the turbulence was only during the initial 90 minutes of the flight but that did cause a few victims to get minor injuries. The incident was designated as severe air turbulence which may arise without visible weather phenomena, they added.
The airline says it is doing everything possible to facilitate those affected by the sudden incident while praising the cabin crew for keeping everyone calm during the unfortunate scenario.
