BREAKING: Brett Tuggle Dies At The Age Of 70, Rick Springfield Shares Tribute And Photo Of The Musician


Keyboardist Brett Tuggle has passed away at the age of 70 after struggling with cancer.

One of the founding members of The David Lee Roth Band, Tuggle toured with Fleetwood Mac for 20 years and also helped Roth write his solo hit song ‘Just Like Paradise.’

He had worked with numerous artists including Mitch Ryder, John Kay and Steppenwolf, Rick Springfield, Styx’s Tommy Shaw, and Jimmy Page throughout his five-decade career.

His friend Springfield took to Twitter and shared a heartfelt tribute along a picture with the musician.

“Our sweet Brett Tuggle made it home tonight,” he wrote. “God bless his beautiful spirit.”

Brett is survived by his son Matt and daughter Michelle.

The grieving children told Rolling Stone that their family were “with him throughout the entire time of his illness.”

Matt also said that he had a ‘lovely father’ who ‘gave me music in my life.’

Tuggle, who was born in Colorado, was still young when he learned how to play piano and guitar. He then took small gigs in Denver before going to Texas.

It was in 1970 when he toured with Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels. A year later, he played guitar on the album Detroit.

During 1980s, he worked more with Springfield when his track Jessie’s Girl became a hit.

In the 1990s, the musician collaborated with David Coverdale and Jimmy Page for their album.

Tuggle then replaced keyboardist McVie when she quit the band in 1998.

One fan commented: “70 is way too young to die nowadays.”

Another wrote: “I was a big fan of Brett through Lindsey and FM and regularly chatted with him on messenger, and met him on a few tours. He was a brilliant multi talented musician and one of the nicest people you could meet. I’m sure he has already been inducted into the biggest band up in Heaven. Condolences to all his family, friends and band members..”
