A Brazilian model was killed in a Russian airstrike while fighting alongside Ukrainians in Kharkiv.
39-year-old Thalita do Valle was a model and a sniper who participated in various humanitarian missions across the globe.
Following Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the influencer decided to join the Ukrainian armed forces and fight for the country’s independence as she previously fought ISIS in Iraq.
It has now come to light that Thalita was killed in a Russian airstrike alongside her Ukrainian comrades after a missile hit their bunker in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
Killed in the missile attack was also Douglas Burigo, a former serviceman of the Brazilian Army, who fought alongside the model.
Thalita studied law and worked as an actress and a model in her younger years. She also participated in humanitarian missions and animal rescue operations.
Previously, the aspiring humanitarian rose to fame after documenting her fight against ISIS in Iraq where she underwent sniper training.
It is believed that Thalita later flew to Ukraine and worked with a writer hoping to convert her experience on the battlefield in Ukraine into a book.
Following her death, the model’s brother spoke out and dubbed his sister a hero who saved lives and fought for people’s freedom.
Theo Rodrigo Viera also revealed that his sister was working in Ukraine as a rescuer and sniper for just three weeks before she was killed in an airstrike.
According to the reports, Thalita’s primary battlefield task was to provide cover from invading Russian troops.
Our thoughts are with Thalita’s family and friends during these tragic times.
