16-year-old Preston Robert Hinebaugh and 17-year-old Logan Jack Pringle have been charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit terrorism after the authorities discovered they were in the “planning phase” of a major attack on a Pennsylvania high school.

The two teenagers got busted thanks to a Westmont Hilltop High School student and her mother who alerted the school’s principal after the girl spotted Pringle roaming the school even though he had been expelled three years ago after threatening to blow it up.

According to the reports, the female student who spotted Pringle told her mom about it but simply “assumed he had been re-admitted to the school district.”

Concerned by what her daughter had told her, the mother then contacted the principal who alerted the police.

As the authorities believe, Hinebaugh helped Pringle gain access to the school before the two walked through the facility to examine cameras “and other features of the building.”

The police also found five firearms, including four untraceable AR-15s that appear to be homemade and a pump-action rifle, in Hinebaugh’s possession. According to the report, the teen’s parents insisted they were unaware of some of the seized weapons.

Both teens remain in custody as of this writing and will be tried as adults.

Pringle’s return to the high school comes three years after he was expelled for threatening to blow up the place according to a criminal complaint.

“Logan Pringle made a note stating ‘I Hate This School’ with a picture of a knife. Logan Pringle made a checklist for his ‘Rebellion’ including weapons and diagrams of the school with one stairwell/hallway labeled ‘Ideal Location,’” the complaint from early 2018 reads.

On February 5, 2018, several people allegedly also confirmed hearing the teenager threatening to “get a gun and shoot up the school” following his permanent expulsion. “I just have to figure out how to get into the school,” Pringle allegedly said.

As the investigators believe, Pringle found his way back into the high school through his partnership with Hinebaugh who proudly shared a picture of the 17-year-old inside the building on social media and wrote: “He’s back.”
