A 14-year-old schoolboy was reportedly stabbed in the neck by his peers while sitting an exam.
The brutal attack took place at the Manchester Academy in Manchester, England, where the teenager was taking an exam when he was assaulted in front of his classmates and teachers on Thursday.
Following the vicious attack, the victim was rushed to the hospital where he is expected to make a recovery despite suffering serious injuries.
In the meanwhile, the police arrested three boys aged 12 and 13 on suspicion of assault. One of the three male students is also suspected of possession of a bladed article.
“Police were called at around 9.40 am to a report of a stabbing at Manchester Academy, Moss East Lane, Manchester,” the Greater Manchester Police confirmed after the shocking attack.
“Emergency services attended and a 14-year-old male pupil was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
“A 13-year-old male pupil was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article.
“Two further males, aged 13 and 12, have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They remain in custody for questioning.”
Though the immediate threat appears to be over, the police have dispatched officers to stay at the school for the time being and reassure the students that they are safe.
The investigation remains ongoing.
