Two young siblings were killed in a horror crash caused by an alleged dangerous driver.
3-year-old Jayden-Lee Lucas and his 4-year-old sister Gracie-Ann Wheaton sustained severe injuries after being involved in a crash while on their way home from a birthday party.
According to the reports, the family’s car collided with another vehicle, a Ford Transit van, as the youngsters from Tredegar, Wales, were returning home together with their parents.
After the crash, the two children and their parents were rushed to the hospital. While the mother and father survived the incident, the two youngsters succumbed to their injuries after a long fight for their lives.
As of this writing, the parents remain in the hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Following the crash, the driver of the van, 41-year-old Martin Newman, has been arrested and charged with causing dangerous driving resulting in death and dangerous driving resulting in serious injury.
“Unfortunately, after a week of fighting, Jayden has passed away,” 19-year-old cousin Jamie Lucas confirmed. “He was wonderful, creative and a kind soul. Turned the grey skies blue.”
Previously, Lucas also paid a tribute to little Gracie whom he dubbed a “wonderful child” who had a bright future ahead.
“I’m just trying to wrap my head around the fact that she’s gone; it’s hard to believe. She was so young. She had a bright future ahead of her. She was such a wonderful child,” the teenager said.
“I’m just lost for words really. How she was returning from a birthday party and all of a sudden she’s gone.”
Our thoughts remain with Jayden and Gracie’s family during these challenging times.
