A 5-year-old boy tragically died after a large truck crashed into him while he was riding his Spider-Man bicycle.
According to reports, the child was hit by the HGV truck while he was across the street on West Bromwich Road, Walsall, in West Midlands.
The road was kept closed, with motorists told to avoid the place while authorities are investigating the scene.
Forensic officers were seen inspecting the child’s orange and blue bicycle.
Residents who were at the scene after the horrific incident said to Birmingham Live that they were supporting the grieving family of the child.
“I’ve heard that a young lad has died. It’s just so very said,” one local said.
“I heard sirens earlier today. It’s so sad what has happened, that poor boy,” another added.
Another resident also said: “I’m not sure what happened but this road can be so dangerous.”
This comes after a woman was arrested after a 6-month-old baby was killed in a crash that involved two vehicles.
“A six-month-old boy was taken to hospital but sadly did not survive his injuries. His family are being supported by specialist officers,” Essex Police said.
Two days later, a 3-year-old boy named Albie Speakman died after a crash with a tractor in the Tottington area of Bury.
Albie’s grieving mother Leah described her child as an incredibly loving, affectionate and caring boy who wanted to make people happy.
