Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a 12-year-old boy in a devastating car crash.
According to local media outlets, the young child was behind the wheel of the automobile that reportedly slammed into a lorry recently.
Paramedics and police officers rushed to the scene of the car crash, only to find the boy dead on the spot.
The horrifying incident took place during the early hours of Friday when the car collided with a lorry present in Limerick.
Investigations into the tragedy revealed how the boy belonged to the Newcastle West region while the accident took place near Adare in Rineroe.
It has now been confirmed by the authorities how the young boy was driving alone and was the sole occupant of the car.
The victim’s body has been shifted to the hospital morgue at Limerick University, as confirmed by local media outlets.
It is still very unclear how the boy managed to be driving alone in the middle of the night, with so many questions being raised about his parents’ whereabouts.
The coroner was notified about a car crash involving a male juvenile who was fatally injured and pronounced dead on the spot.
On the other hand, the driver of the Lorry has been identified as a male in his 40’s. He did not require any sort of hospital treatment after the collision.
At the moment, diversions on the road are currently in place at N21 as the forensic team with local police officers continue the investigations regarding the accident.
In the same way, the police are also calling forward any witnesses who may have observed the crash.
