A 16-year-old boy who allegedly murdered five members of his family had previously tried to poison his stepmother.
Before Mason Wayne Sisk allegedly shot his parents and three siblings, he allegedly tried to poison his stepmother by secretly putting peanut butter in her coffee as she was allergic to it.
The horrifying murders occurred after Sisk discovered that he was not biologically related to his mother.
According to News19, Sisk had been threatening his father and forceful with his three siblings. He is also accused of stealing jewelry from his grandmother and stepmother.
The teen faces three counts of capital murder of a victim under the age of 14 and one count of capital murder of two or more victims. He is scheduled to appear in court next month for a pre-trial hearing.
The alleged crimes reportedly occurred around 11 pm on September 2, 2019. Sisk, who called 911 to report the incident, initially told officers that he had been in the home’s basement when he heard gunshots being fired.
Investigators said that the teen later confessed to shooting his family members.
The victims were identified as his father John Sisk, 38, his stepmother Mary Sisk, 35, his half-brothers Colson, 6 month old, and Grayson, 6, and half-sister Aurora, 5.
A report from a juvenile probation officer said that Sisk “had not shown any sign of remorse.”
“Mason does not seem bothered by the fact he’s accused of murdering his family… While in detention, he has not talked about his family at all,” the document obtained by WAAY reads.
The teen’s probation officer also noted that Sisk had been a model inmate, with the report stating: “While in detention, Mason follows directions, does his schoolwork and interacts well with others.”
