A teenage boy died in agony after getting stabbed in his thigh multiple times.
16-year-old Trey Johnston Piggott was identified as the teenager who died in NSW’s Corindi Beach after getting stabbed in his thigh multiple times.
According to the reports, another teenager, who was acquainted with the victim, approached Trey before causing fatal bleeding by stabbing him several times.
The 17-year-old suspect, who hasn’t been named, was like Trey allegedly also a student at Woolgoolga High School.
The bleeding boy was found by one of the locals who heard a loud bang of a car door after Trey collapsed in front of his home.
“The bang was a car door and it was someone who must have pulled over to help. There were a lot of people trying to help and the little bloke was just lying there groaning,” they said.
“A lot of young ones cut across that block because it’s a shortcut to a couple of walking tracks and they can go that way to get to the houses on the other side.”
Meanwhile, the boy’s family launched a GoFundMe in hopes of raising $15,000 for Trey’s funeral expenses.
In a tribute to the young man, his aunt Billee-jo said: “Trey was a beautiful, smart, intelligent, young boy who had his whole life ahead of him and we now are left with only memories.
“Trey was very well known through our community & loved dearly by so many. Through this hard time we are trying to stand together as a family to support one another but most of all our sister Rikki and Trey’s siblings through this traumatic time.”
Recent reports have since confirmed that the 17-year-old suspect has already been arrested and charged with a number of crimes including assault resulting in death and possession of drugs.
The motive for the shocking killing remains unclear.
Our thoughts are with Trey’s loved ones during this challenging time.
