One mother is sharing her utter devastation and heartbreak after her daughter passed away in her sleep.
20-year-old Danielle Marie Lewis died in her sleep, just a few years after she was diagnosed with a rare genetic health condition, confirmed reports.
Danielle passed away in her home all of a sudden and her mother claims that she had no idea that this would happen abruptly.
The mother who identified herself as Kirsten revealed how doctors informed her that her daughter had Gardner Syndrome. Moreover, the mother shed light on how five out of her six kids have the syndrome because she did too.
For those who may not be aware, this is a very rare disease that affects the body as a whole.
And while it may appear harmless it poses some symptoms that are beyond many people’s imagination.
Typically, patients present with a reduced life expectancy, and that is deemed to be an offshoot for familial adenomatous polyposis.
This happens when one person tends to develop more than 100 different polyps in their large intestine which is small growths.
However, those diagnosed with this syndrome tend to show growths in different parts of the body which may arise spontaneously.
Moreover, doctors claim that this syndrome makes patients people more prone to developing cancer too which is another alarming feature worth a mention.
For this reason, so many patients end up dying young.
But Danielle’s mother says that she never expected her daughter to die so abruptly, making the tragedy so much worse for her to accept.
Danielle was currently working as a trainee worker at a nursery. She always did her job with great care and professionalism with many adding how loving of a person she was.
Now, her mother and other loved ones mourn her sudden loss and are trying to raise more awareness about the rare but dangerous genetic condition that took away this young woman’s life.
