General Hospital star Billy Miller died on September 15 at the age of 43, his manager confirmed the devastating news.
According to Variety, he lost his life only two days before his 44th birthday.
In a heartbreaking statement, it was revealed that the Suits actor was ‘struggling with manic depression when he died.’
His grieving mother, Patricia Miller, has spoken out and confirmed in a statement with Soap Opera Digest that her son died by su*cide.
“I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ — Billy Miller,” she said.
“He fought a long hard valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends and his fans but in the end the disease won the fight and he surrendered his life.”
The mother thanked everyone for their support and love.
Miller’s showbiz career started when he worked as a model with Wilhelmina agency. He then moved on to acting and landed a role in the iconic soap opera All My Children where he played the role Richie Novak.
His breakout role came when he earned the role of Billy Abbott in The Young and the Restless where he appeared in more than 700 episodes.
He then won three Daytime Emmys, including one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and two for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
Miller decided to leave The Young and the Restless in 2014 but continued working on General Hospital where he appeared in almost 600 episodes.
He also played opposite Meghan Markle in the hit show Suits with a five-episode appearance and made guest appearances in numerous TV shows including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, Truth Be Told, The Rookie, and Castle.
