Bill Cosby has been found guilty of assaulting Judy Huth, then 16, at the Playboy Mansion in 1975, after a Los Angeles County jury delivered the verdict in her favor.
The victim, who is now 64, was awarded $500,000.
Jurors determined the 84-year-old intentionally caused harmful contact with the teen and that his conduct was driven by abnormal and unnatural s*xual interest in a minor.
Huth said of the 7-year legal fight: “It’s been torture.
“To be ripped apart, you know, thrown under the bus and backed over. This, to me, is such a big victory.”
The civil jury’s decision is a major legal defeat for Cosby, who was once hailed as America’s dad.
This comes almost a year after his criminal conviction for s*xual assault in Pennsylvania was overturned and he walked out of prison.
Huth’s lawsuit was one of the remaining legal claims against the entertainer, who did not testify in person.
Jurors watched videos from 2015 deposition in which Cosby denied any s*xual contact with Huth.
The 84-year-old continues to deny the claims through his publicist and attorney.
According to reports, Cosby met the victim and her high school friend Donna Samuelson on a Southern California film set in 1975. Only a few days later, he took them to the Playboy Mansion.
Samuelson took pictures at the mansion of Cosby and Huth.
Huth testified that Cosby tried to put his hand down her pants before he exposed himself and made her perform a s*x act.
Her lawyer Nathan Goldberg told the jury of three men and nine women during closing arguments that “my client deserves to have Mr. Cosby held accountable for what he did.”
“Each of you knows in your heart that Mr. Cosby s*xually assaulted Miss Huth,” Goldberg added.
