Singer Craig David is not a happy man as the celeb was recently seen slamming a former comedy show as being ‘extremely racist’.
The show in question was a popular feature on Channel 4 and was famous for its hilarious comics and jokes made about some real people, including celebs.
The fan following is great and people really loved the light-hearted themes but some jokes really got down and dirty and Craig David is finally speaking out on the matter.
Bo’ Selecta was the title and it ran between the period 2002 to 2009. This was a show whose frontman included Leigh Francis/ Keith Lemon. But keeping the fun and games part separate, David revealed that it may have been a big hit for the public broadcaster but looking back at the script and the way things played out, he’s deeply ashamed.
A lot of the show was based on the impressions of leading celebs such as Mel C, David Beckham, and the Osbournes too.
The singer and songwriter happened to be one of the many sketches depicted on the show and he isn’t a happy man, as you can tell now, calling it nothing fabulous and intense bullying.
In the same way. Craig David mentioned how Leigh tends to highlight those individuals and characteristics that he felt would do a great job at triggering others personally. And to him, each and every sketch out there managed to do just that.
‘Yes, I was intrigued by the show at the start. But I did become shocked after I realized what was going on’- he adds.
For his part, Francis was seen wearing a head that featured Craig David. At first, it did not strike him but with time, it all began making sense to him as to what was going on.
The jokes were bullying and this humor isn’t something that he was interested in.
