An 8-year-old autistic boy has tragically passed away after being murdered by his own mother and her boyfriend in the Bronx area.
Sources from local media reports confirmed how the 8-year-old victim was identified as Joseph Barney whose death has now been ruled by the cops as a homicide.
Moreover, they even shed light on how he suffered from Autism. But despite knowing her son’s condition, the mother felt no guilt and opted to go ahead with the heinous crime.
Over an alarming period of nine months, the child was severely battered until he finally lost his battle with life, after passing away at a hospital.
These charges come less than 7 days after the young child’s death was revealed to have taken place by battered child syndrome.
The suspects have been identified as 29-year-old Shary Barney and 33-year-old Michael Ransom.
Cops revealed how they were both slapped with charges relating to manslaughter as well as aggravated manslaughter.
Last June, this mother is believed to have brought her son from their residence to a medical center via an Uber.
And that’s when cops were alerted from the emergency room at the hospital regarding the boy and how he had been found in an unconscious and unresponsive state.
While sources claim the boy had no obvious signs of trauma covering him, he was soon pronounced dead by the doctors after they examined him at the hospital.
Other reports from the police spoke about how the child was rushed to the hospital in the past and there were clear indications of child abuse.
Little Joseph weighed only 20 pounds during the time of his death and now investigators are trying to determine whether or not he suffered from malnutrition.
