Soccer legend Neymar makes his first court appearance after being accused of corruption for his 2013 transfer to Barcelona.
The famous sportsman was seen donning black formal attire and a pair of black shades as he appeared super cool and calm while making his way into the courtroom.
The celebrity was hailed by fans for striking the only goal during the match against Marseille last night, allowing his team to win. But it seemed to be a bittersweet victory for him as he was forced to arrive at the Provincial Court of Barcelona today.
Neymar is believed to be one of the nine defendants on trial on corruption-related charges, among them including his own parents and the N&N company, which is known to manage the celeb’s affairs.
If proven guilty, the soccer player who hails from Brazil could face up to two years in jail and would be ordered to pay a hefty fine with that, as confirmed by local media outlets.
The star did look tired and that’s when his lawyer requested that the star be allowed to leave early as he has scored the winning goal during a match last night. And that’s when he was granted permission by the judge.
One picture of the star in the courtroom has gone viral where he can be seen sleeping with his eyes wide open, staring at the ceiling. And that just goes to show how tired he must have been after that.
Fans waited in line to get a glimpse of the star and when he emerged in and out of the courtroom, he was greeted by loud sounds of cheer and applause by many.
