Shocking reports coming in from Texas have gone on to speak about a huge drug bust where $12 million worth of cocaine was seized.
Local media outlets have confirmed how border officials from Texas were able to seize the massive haul of cocaine as baby wipes. And this incident has been labeled as the biggest drug bust in over 20 years made by authorities.
The drugs were reportedly seized at the Columbia-Solidarity Bridge which is located near Laredo, last Friday.
The illegal narcotics were located inside a mega trailer that had been labeled as baby wipes but to the horror of authorities, that was from the truth. It became suspicious of the matter and decided to further investigate. And that’s when they found the massive goods disguised inside.
Sources revealed the last time such a huge incident had taken place was in June of 2019. At that time, around $1.3 billion of cocaine was seized in Philadelphia, sparking huge concern among border officials as to how the major shipment made its way this far.
A total of 1900 packages were intercepted and they contained a ton of alleged cocaine. The confirmation was made after snipper dogs were brought to the scene of the suspicious trailer and they immediately recognized it.
This border town is known for sharing a frontier with its Mexican counterpart Nuevo Laredo. It’s also a top hotspot for drug smuggling into America, authorities confirmed.
Meanwhile, the director for field operations in the area spoke to Fox News for an exclusive interview. He mentioned how this was definitely one record-breaking seizure of drugs in recent times.
This case is being highlighted as one of the prime examples linked to border security management and how the whole system is designed to prevent dangerous types of narcotics from moving forward toward communities.
