A young couple is going viral on social media after a priest at the local church blatantly refused to baptize their child because the parents were unwed.

Sources from local media outlets shed light on how the couple wished for their child to be baptized at the church but they were horrified to learn that the priest was ever so reluctant as he felt they had sinned to a severe extent.

The priest went on to call the ceremony extremely sacred and not one that could be done by anyone, anywhere, and at any time. He also called out the child’s parents for living together in sin by being unmarried.

Since then, the couple has been expressing their dismay over the priest’s reactions as they felt he was being ridiculous. Moreover, they felt that the sin part was on them and not him. They also felt it was increased by disrespectful and rude to make such offensive statements in public as it was damaging their image.

“He’s so quick to turn our moment of happiness into great sadness”- the couple adds.

18-year-old Kamri and her boyfriend of two years share a daughter named Presleigh who was born in the month of May. Moreover, the couple adds that their little bundle of joy is everything and anything they could have asked for, adding life and light into their lives.

Hence, this is why they chose to get her baptized as soon as possible but little did they know about the great hurdles that lay ahead of them.

What’s interesting is that the mom has been a regular church goer at this institution since she was a kid. But little did she know that one day, she’d be denied entry.
