The unborn child who was killed after ‘mentally ill’ ICU nurse Nicole Linton plowed into their family car was nearly full-term.
Linton was driving at ferocious speed when she crashed into the family’s vehicle, killing Asherey Ryan along with her one-year-old son Alonzo and her unborn child Armani Lester.
According to reports, the baby was ripped from his mother’s uterus due to the impact that also took the life of Asherey’s boyfriend, Reynold Lester.
The August 4 car crash in Los Angeles also killed two women in another vehicle.
Linton, 37, was caught on camera plowing her car at 90mph through a red light and into the traffic, splitting the family’s vehicle in half.
1-year-old Alonzo was sent flying in his car seat and was found separated from his family, the LA County Medical Examiner Office said.
The nurse has been charged with six counts of murder, including one for the tragic death of the unborn child, who was ripped from his mother’s uterus.
On Monday, Alonzo’s father Luis Quintero broke down in tears as he shared his grief.
“He was full of joy, very excited,” he expressed. “I loved when he gripped his hands, when he would kick his legs from excitement… now I’ll never see him again.”
The devastated father also said that he wants Linton to be brought to justice.
“I want to see that justice is made. Something for her, payback for what she’s done. Maybe then I can forgive her. But not now. She took my son away from me. And I will never see him.”
According to prosecutors, Linton was involved in 13 prior crashes.
The grieving family has set up a GoFundMe page for funeral expenses and raised over $163,000.
