A baby boy passed away days after his mother strangled him and his two older siblings.
32-year-old Lindsay Clancy stands accused of strangling her three children including 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan at her Massachusetts home earlier this week.
While the youngest of the siblings initially survived the ordeal, he succumbed to his injuries and joined his siblings on Friday morning.
The children’s midwife mother has since been treated at the hospital under police custody and is expected to face homicide charges.
The police also revealed that a probe into the shocking killings has been launched to investigate claims that the mother-of-three, who previously worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, was suffering from postpartum psychosis.
Meanwhile, friends of the Clancy family and the children’s father, Patrick, launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for the grieving man’s funeral bills and medical expenses.
“On behalf of the extended Clancy Family we invite you to offer support for Patrick as he navigates an unimaginable tragedy. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and outreach in support,” the page reads.
“This GoFundMe is intended to help Pat pay for medical bills, funeral services, and legal help. This assistance is especially needed because Pat will be unable to work for the foreseeable future as he weathers this painful, life-altering tragedy.
“We all know Pat to be the most kind and genuine person. As someone who is always willing to support others, we sincerely thank you for offering yours.”
The GoFundMe page has already raised over $500,000 for the cause as of this writing.
The news comes after an emotional vigil was held for the three siblings at the Holy Family Church in Duxbury.
During the Thursday vigil, the priest claimed that the children’s mother was “trying to deal with mental illness” before getting “overwhelmed” and taking their lives.
Our thoughts remain with the Clancy family during this challenging time.
