A two-year-old baby boy has tragically passed away after being mauled to death by his family’s dog.
Little Talan from Queensland, Australia, succumbed to his injuries after being attacked by his family’s dog at their Mena Creek home.
According to the reports, the bubbly toddler was left with serious head injuries after being bitten on the head. While he was airlifted to the hospital in an attempt to save his life, Talan died shortly after undergoing emergency brain surgery and being put in a coma.
Following the boy’s passing, his heartbroken mom spoke out on Facebook and paid the 2-year-old a touching tribute.
“I love you my sweet boy. Please pray for my baby. Also please give us some space during this time. We are heartbroken right now,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, the child’s aunt, Bex Newman, managed to raise $20,000 for the struggling family and Talan’s funeral expenses on GoFundMe.
“Talan was tragically mauled by the family’s dog at the family home in Mena Creek sustaining severe injuries to his skull,” the fundraiser read.
“Talan was rushed to Innisfail Hospital, but his breathing and heart stopped. There he was brought back to life and stabilized before being airlifted to Townsville Base Hospital where he underwent emergency brain surgery. They unfortunately couldn’t stop the bleeding and his organs started to struggle.”
Newman added: “All funds of this page will be going directly to Talan’s family to help pay for his funeral and allow them time off work to grieve the loss of their child without the added financial stress of providing for their two beautiful boys Lucas (5) and Kaden (one month) at home.”
Our thoughts are with Talan’s family during these challenging times.
