Award-winning actress Angela Lansbury has reportedly passed away at the age of 96.
According to reports from local media outlets, the famous celeb was known to have enjoyed a wonderful career in the world of acting and stage performances with fans remembering her beautiful smile and epic dialogue delivery.
She was renowned for always performing her best and even turned into America’s favorite sleuth on television as well. This includes shows by the name, ‘Murder She Wrote’.
The news was recently confirmed by her own family members who were seen speaking to NBC recently.
NBC was known to have had a great working relationship with the actress as it was her parent company that produced that the famous long-running series that she was a major part of.
“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are extremely sad to announce that their mom died peacefully today in her sleep at her residence in Los Angeles during the hours of 1:30 am today.
Source also said that she was just five days short of her 97th birthday and that just made the matter so much more heartbreaking.
The celeb managed to get her first nomination for the Oscar with her movie debut called Gaslight. This was in the year 1944. Meanwhile, the second one was said to have arrived in the following year for the film titled The Portrait of Doran Gray.
Then in the following year, she got another one for The Manchurian Candidate and one after another, the accolades kept on coming in.
This year’s honorary Oscar award was accepted to go by the side of her many Tony Awards that she managed to grab a hold of over her career of nearly 40 years.
