JUST IN: ‘NYPD’ Blue Star Austin Majors’ Cause Of Death Has Been Confirmed


NYPD Blue star Austin Majors’ cause of death has been confirmed by the medical examiner’s office.

Best known for his role on the TV series NYPD Blue, Majors passed away at the age of 27 earlier this year.

The actor rose to fame as a gifted child star, charming viewers with his portrayal of Theo Sipowicz.

According to reports, an autopsy was concluded and the results revealed how he died at a very young age.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office attributed the actor’s death to fentanyl toxicity, TMZ reported.

In a heartbreaking statement to TMZ, his grieving family said: “(Majors) was a loving, artistic, brilliant, and kind human being. Austin took great joy and pride in his acting career.

“He was an active Eagle Scout and graduated Salutatorian in High School. He went on to graduate from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts with a passion of directing and music producing.”

The statement continued: “Austin’s younger sister, Kali, says her fondest memories with Austin were growing up on set with him, volunteering at events with Kids With a Cause, and backpacking together.

“Austin was the kind of son, brother, grandson, and nephew that made us proud and we will miss him deeply forever.”

It was in 1999 when his breakthrough role on NYPD Blue arrived. He appeared in 48 episodes before he left in 2004 as he lent his impressive voice to Treasure Planet.

Kali also took to Instagram and wrote: “My big brother, Austin, is gone. He died last night. It’s so surreal to me still. He was only 27 with so much life left to live. I’ve told some of you already but if you’re interested in his services please reach out.”
