A 12-year-old girl has reportedly died after taking her own life in Southport.
According to local media reports, the young female victim had suffered assault of the worst kind but she was made to feel like she was some sort of inconvenience by the Police who discouraged her from filing charges.
The news was revealed by her own loved ones who mourn the death of a loving 12-year-old.
Sources revealed that the girl met a boy through SnapChat who groomed her into thinking that he loved her. But at the end of it all, he r*ped her and got away.
The victim named Semina Halliwell was assaulted last year in June. She is said to have suffered from Autism.
The victim informed her mother about the incident, moments before she tried to her precious life by inflicting self-harm.
But her family members are absolutely furious because they feel the officers that were actually supposed to help her are the cause of her death today.
“The detectives told her that she wouldn’t want something like this hanging over her head as the case was not likely to go to court until a good 18 months from now. In some cases, even a delay of two years could be expected”- the family continued.
The news terrified the victim more and they claim she started to feel useless and a big source of inconvenience as the offender that she had named had no charges brought forward against his name.
“It would be your own words against his”- were the terms used by the detectives and they feel it really had a negative effect on the child, at the end of it all.
The school that she went to wasn’t even informed about the incident and that angered the family as they were given safe assurances that nothing would happen to her.
She stayed home because she had so much fear and in the end, died as a result of the tragedy.
