One person was reportedly shot dead in Arkansas at a hospital after reports about an active shooter were recently made.
According to reports by the police, the suspected shooter has been taken into police custody as the terrifying situation unfolded during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The exact location was identified by the cops as the CHI St. Vincent North Hospital in Sherwood, which was outlined to be a suburb on the northeast of Little Rock.
The police chief in Sherwood, Jeff Hagar was seen speaking to reporters recently after officers responded to terrifying calls from witnesses about shots being fired inside the hospital. It was about 10 am local time. And that’s when the officers discovered one victim deceased from one horrifying gunshot wound by the shooter.
Now, officers are confirmed how the person of interest is in police custody but they are yet to identify if it’s the victim or the suspected shooter.
The police chief has declined to give more details on the matter, stating it’s too early to make any assumptions on the matter. At this moment, a preliminary investigation is taking place, and that’s all the information that they can provide at this hour.
Meanwhile, a separate statement was issued by the Little Rock Police Department that claims the suspected shooter had been apprehended at about 11 am at the Exxon Gas Station. This was located at 5223 South University Avenue, which is around a 25-minute drive away from the medical center.
The cops have further confirmed how more information on the matter will soon be released to the public.
Terrifying live video footage is now making its way online. It shows a giant police perimeter situation around the hospital. Cops from several different law enforcement agencies were seen surrounding the area.
The initial statement released by the police only spoke about an active shooter being present at the scene while no other details were released during that time.
