A huge aquarium exploded inside a German Hotel today, unleashing an entire tsunami of water.
The incident reportedly caused unbelievable maritime damage at a major tourist attraction, as confirmed by local media outlets today.
The giant tank was a staggering 82ft high and it was located in the foyer of the Radisson Blu Hotel in the central part of Berlin. It burst around 5 am in the morning and managed to kill around 1500 tropical fish that happened to be located inside.
This mega explosion of the AquaDom aquarium unleashed around millions of liters of water inside the lobby. It similarly managed to cut out electricity inside this hotel.
Two people were reportedly injured from mega glass shards and they received treatment at a medical facility today.
Moreover, there was some speculation regarding freezing temperatures overnight that caused a crack inside the glass tank. This exploded under the intense weight of the water present but at the moment, the police are still investigating the matter and the cause of the ordeal.
There are plenty of efforts taking place to save another 400 to 500 other small-sized fish that are housed inside aquariums located right below the lobby area. And without such types of electricity, the tanks were just not getting the desirable levels of oxygen for such species to survive, the officials mentioned.
More oxygen is being supplied to assist in maintaining the life of the marine creatures, the officials explained And while it is turning out to be a mega challenge, they’re really working hard toward achieving that goal.
“Now, the race is on to evacuate such species quickly and our efforts are aimed at that”- the hotel management and officials revealed.
