Archie Battersbee’s parents are appealing against the high court judge’s ruling to have their 12-year-old son’s life support machine turned off.
According to reports from local media sources, Archie has been on life support for the past three months and medical experts have claimed that the ongoing treatment being carried out for him is futile.
But his parents disagree. They claim their son can come back to life and they’re not willing to let him go yet, without putting up a major fight.
“He would have liked it that we fought for him as compared to leaving him alone in the dark”- the heartbroken parents explained.
Hollie Dance and her husband Paul Battersbee who hail from Essex disagree with both medical experts as well as the courtroom’s judge. They believe the judge’s decision isn’t correct and they’re going to have to appeal against it immediately as time is running out.
Archie is believed to have suffered from the worst type of brain injury where doctors were reluctant to carry on with his medical treatment, stating that it was in his best interests that the treatment be put to an end.
A lawyer has since then been appointed in the case. He will be representing the parents and has claimed how willing he is to challenge Justice Hayden’s ruling.
The parents have vowed to appeal until their last breath, adding how their child did nothing to deserve this treatment. They added how powerful prayers were and they know that their son can come right back to them in time.
But their struggle is long and hard and they hope it would end on a high because nothing can be more difficult for them than this.
