As they explained, the actress made it clear to everyone that she wanted to donate her organs upon her death should the organs pass the necessary tests and screenings.

Now, it was also confirmed that the actress’s life support was turned off on Sunday after health officials found suitable recipients for Heche’s organs.

Sources also told TMZ that doctors already removed multiple organs over the weekend. It is currently unclear which organs, or how many, were removed.

The news comes shortly after hundreds of entertainment figures and people close to Heche paid the Hollywood star touching tributes and recalled their times together.

Among the tear-jerking tributes was that of Homer Laffoon, Anne’s oldest son, who said he was left with “deep, wordless sadness” in the wake of his mother’s passing.

“Hopefully, my mom is free from pain and beginning to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom. Over those six days, thousands of friends, family, and fans made their hearts known to me.

“I am grateful for their love, as I am for the support of my Dad, Coley, and my stepmom Alexi who continue to be my rock during this time. Rest In Peace Mom, I love you, Homer.”

Paying the actress a tribute was also her ex-husband and Homer’s father, Coleman ‘Coley’ Laffoon, who in a touching clip said he loves and misses his former partner.

“In the wake of Anne’s passing, I just wanted to say a few things: One, I love her and I miss her, and I’m always going to. Two, Homer is OK,” he said.

“He’s grieving of course, and it’s rough, it’s really rough as probably anybody can imagine. But he’s surrounded by family and he’s going to be OK. So for all those people checking in, thank you for checking in, showing us your heart, offering prayers and everything.”
