A leading news anchor from Australia has been blasted and immensely criticized for behaving in a highly insensitive manner after the queen’s death.
According to local media outlets, the anchor was seen calling out the United Kingdom and forcing it to issue an apology to various first-world nations after Her Majesty’s death.
The indigenous anchor who works at Channel 10 says she and so many Aboriginal people refuse to mourn the Queen’s death and they shouldn’t be judged or blasted for it because there’s a lot of painful history behind the story. And it’s just something that they can’t seem to forget, ever.
Narelda Jacobs who is a leading presenter on the channel and also one of the top hosts of a popular morning show was seen portraying so much resentment toward the Royal family. And for that, she’s getting plenty of hate online.
So many viewers feel that her sentiments are very strong and although she does have the right to put them forward, it would have been better to be more sensitive to time. After all, the country is in a state of mourning and grief, and it just wasn’t appropriate to behave in this manner.
Jacobs then called the entire UK a symbol of colonization and even asked what role the modern-day royal family played in making up for the past that was nothing but brutal.
The news anchor tried to justify her behavior by calling the blog post one that was very personal and very hard for her to put up because she could feel the pain of so many people involved.
She even dug down some incidents from history to prove her point about how the UK treated her ancestors but many felt that it was just not right, considering the timing of events that had recently taken place.
What are your thoughts on these insensitive remarks? Do you think it was appropriate for her to make such a demand considering the Queen had just passed away? Let us know and be sure to SHARE the story with others too.
