Robyn Griggs has passed away at the age of 49, her family revealed.
The young actress, who was best known for her roles in Another World and One Life To Live, died on Saturday following a long battle with cancer.
The sad news was announced on Griggs’ Facebook profile by a mystery friend or family member who paid the actress a touching tribute.
“With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing. However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories,” the message read.
“She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so. RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.”
Robyn’s premature passing comes just days after her father revealed that she was moved to hospice care amid the deterioration of her health.
The actress previously, in 2020, revealed that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Back in July, she also confirmed that cancer had spread and that doctors discovered four new tumors in her body.
Griggs was born in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, in 1973. She started her acting career at an early age but didn’t have a major breakthrough until 1991 when she was cast in One Life To Live for six episodes.
She eventually landed the role of Maggie Cory in Another World and stayed on the show for 21 episodes from 1993 to 1995.
Following her Another World gig, the actress took a break from acting and didn’t return to filming until ten years later when she was cast in a series of low-budget movies.
