A beloved Disney+ star and aspiring actress died suddenly at the age of 29 after falling down the stairs.
Park Soo Ryun was a South Korean actress who appeared in a variety of musicals including Siddhartha, The Day We Loved, Passing Through Love, and Finding Kim Jong Wook. She was best known for her role as a college student in the Disney+ romance Snowdrop.
According to the young woman’s family, Park succumbed to her injuries after suffering a fall while returning home on June 11.
After the fall, the actress fell into a coma and was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brain dead.
In a heartbreaking statement, her family revealed their final wish and said they would be donating Park Soo Ryun’s organs knowing that they could save another life and have something good come out of this tragedy.
“Only her brain is unconscious, and her heart is still beating. There must be someone who desperately needs [organs]. As her mother and father, we will be able to live comforted [by the thought that her heart] has gone to someone and is beating,” the 29-year-old’s parents said.
The family also announced that the funeral procession for the young lady would be held in Jangan-gu, Suwon, on June 13 at 10.30 am KST.
Park made her acting debut in 2018 when she appeared in the musical Il Tenore. In 2021, she made her television debut by starring in Snowdrop after appearing in several musicals.
Our thoughts remain with Park’s family and friends during this challenging time.
