American actress Annie Wersching has passed away at the age of 45, her family confirmed.
Annie was best known for appearing in TV shows such as Timeless, 24, and Bosch prior to her cancer diagnosis back in 2020.
Despite receiving the heavy news, the actress remained active in terms of filming and went on to appear in the likes of Star Trek: Picard and The Rookie.
Her death was announced on Saturday and confirmed by Annie’s friends and family who paid the actress a tribute on social media.
“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today,” Stephen Full, Wersching’s husband, wrote in a tear-jerking statement after his wife’s passing.
“But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”
Annie and Stephen tied the knot at their Los Angeles home back in 2009. Later, they welcomed three children – Freddie, 12, Ozzie, 9, and Archie, 4 – into their family.
Paying a tribute to Annie was also 24 director and producer Jon Cassar who praised the actress for her “contagious smile” and her breathtaking talent.
“My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away,” he said.
“Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family, and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie, you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.”
Our thoughts remain with Annie’s family and friends during this challenging time.
