Days of Our Lives star Cody Longo has passed away at the age of just 34.
The soap opera actor was reportedly found dead in a bed at his Austin, Texas, home on Wednesday, TMZ confirmed.
According to the reports, the discovery was made after the actor’s wife, Stephanie, asked the police to perform a welfare check on her husband because she couldn’t reach him over the phone.
Sources also suggested Stephanie was working at a local dance studio when she unsuccessfully tried to reach her husband and began feeling uneasy about it.
When the authorities arrived at the young man’s home, they broke down the door and found him lying lifeless in his bed.
It is believed that Longo was battling alcohol abuse before his premature death. While the official cause of death is yet to be established, his family believes that he relapsed and that alcohol is likely what got him in the end.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie and their three children including two boys, aged 1 and 5, and one girl, 7.
“He was an amazing father and the best husband. Our whole world is shattered,” Stephanie expressed in a statement.
The aspiring soap opera actor was arguably best known for making a brief appearance as Nicholas Alamain on the Days of Our Lives back in 2011.
Besides eight episodes on the show, Longo appeared in Bring It On: Fight to The Finish and Nashville. He was also cast as Eddie Duran in 78 episodes of Hollywood Heights.
