Outrage After A Judge BANS 11-Year-Old Abuse Victim From Having An Abortion


Widespread demonstrations are taking center stage in Brazil after an 11-year-old abuse victim was denied the right to have an abortion.

According to reports from local media outlets, the young victim was stated to have been r*ped at the age of 11 and despite being investigated, the judge in her case is now refusing to grant her an abortion.

Judge Joana Ribeiro Zimmer stated that there is a lack of evidence in the case and for that reason, she felt that granting the young child the right to terminate her pregnancy would be against the country’s judicial system.

But the news has been taken negatively with people staging protests against the way the case is being handled. Many are calling out the judge for the unfair decision, claiming that the child is being denied basic human rights.

The victim was stated to have been abused in her own family home which is located in the southern part of Brazil, Santa Catarina to be exact.

However, there are no more details related to the incident as revealed by local media outlets in regards to the suspects or perpetrators of the case.

Abortion is deemed to be illegal in the country except in exceptional cases like r*pes and in cases where is a risk to a person’s life.

But many feel that since this case is related to s*xual abuse, the girl has every right to choose to have an abortion as carrying a suspect’s child is a crime.

After the incident came to light, thanks to the citizens of the country who united under one roof for the cause, the judge is now being investigated.

“She has refused to help this poor unnamed girl. We cannot allow something this serious to go unnoticed. This is a crime”- claimed plenty present on the streets who are now marching against the judge.
