Aaron Carter’s fiancée moved her belongings out of the singer’s home days after he died at the age of 34.
Melanie Martin reportedly called police to the $800,000 home in Lancaster, California, to “keep the peace” as she collected her stuff.
Carter was found lifeless in his bathtub on November 5, with officers saying he had drowned.
The singer’s medically-trained neighbors said they tried to help him but the house sitter refused to let them in.
Martin and Carter had a rocky relationship since 2020 and share a one-year-old son.
In August, the singer said to Daily Mail that they were no longer together and were done for good. It is not clear what their relationship status was leading up to his death but Martin called him her ‘fiancee’ in a statement.
“My fiancée Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father,” she wrote.
“Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly,” Martin continued.
“We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”
Earlier this year, Carter filed custody of their son and a petition for protection at the Antelope Valley Courthouse in LA. He claimed Martin caused ‘emotional distress, anguish, shoving and scratching,’ adding that she abused him ‘emotionally’ by using the threat of suicide.
Martin was seen wearing a hoodie while receiving help from others to pack her items and load them into a moving van but it is not clear who they were.
